trick or treat

well it was maggie's first time of trick and treating on halloween and it was a great, great day. it was pre-school day today for her and when eric and i went to pick her up we didn't immediately see her -- she was busy running around in a giraffe costume borrowed from the center and looking as cute and happy as can be. at trick or treating time she was quick to get into the spirit of things and i was fighting the floodgates. it was hard not to shed a tear when i saw her dressed in her bumble-bee costume holding on to eric's hand; full of chatter about candy, costumes and halloween. it was such a wonderful, cherrishable moment. i felt so blessed, proud and very emotional.while it's important to make every day count, this is one which will stand out in the years to come.
