been quite busy the last few days and have missed posting some personal thoughts on a couple of topics. i plan on posting them at a later date but this story is short and sweet -- and too cute to postpone.
maggie had her friend over today who has become somewhat of a "big sister" to her -- she's three years older than maggie and has known her for almost two years now. it's so lovely to see them together. i think maggie enjoys being "grown up" with her and just blooms with confidence when she's around. it's a great relationship for her to have.
i was reading them both a book "miss spiders christmas wish" . in the story a lonely young miss spiders wishes for a new friend. i asked the girls what they would like for christmas. maggie spoke first. here's what she said, "i want snow, a tree, santa claus and real reindeer in my room." her friend said she wanted another real kitten and if she couldn't have that she'd take a doll that you can put different outfits on.
the faces on each of their faces was priceless and for one brief moment i too felt the spirit of christmas like only a child can.
